The Hyundai Ioniq 9 has just hit the big time. The Hyundai Ioniq 9 Off-Road Concept is a SEMA-ready show build that takes Hyundai’s three-row EV and turns it into an adventure rig. A taller suspension, white-letter BFGs, and OZ Racing rally wheels are just the start of this silent but cool SUV.
This Is the Coolest Ioniq 9 Ever
Hyundai didn’t say by how much it lifted the Ioniq 9 BigTime, but it has to be at least a couple of inches. That’s because of the 285/70R18 BFG KO3s that are packed into the wheel wells. No, they don’t look like they have much clearance in there, but that’s a 34-inch tire on a vehicle that would normally max out at 31.
KO3s always look mean. The OZ Rally Racing 18-inch wheels make the look nearly perfect, with their white finish, red lettering, and that classic center disc.

Up top, there’s a custom light bar holding a whopping array of eight LED lamps. The lights should be no problem for the 110kWh battery pack under the Hyundai Ioniq 9, though the drag of the bar, lights, and those tires will definitely cut into the 311-mile range of the AWD Calligraphy trim this is based on.
Full Luxury Interior
That’s right — the starting point for this build is a loaded Calligraphy Ioniq 9. So while the outside looks rough and ready, the inside is leather, a power-adjust and nap-ready middle row, and other fancy bits.
It also gets the motors from the Calligraphy. The front and rear electric motors deliver 422 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Plenty to turn the larger tires.
Hyundai Ioniq 9 BigTime’s Graphics Might Ring a Bell

If the rust and beige graphics scheme seems familiar, your clue is in the name. The Hyundai Ioniq 9 BigTime SEMA build was created with help from Jeremiah Burton and Zach Jobe, the YouTubers of the channel BigTime.
The duo based the graphics on their 1977 Kenworth K100. The cabover semi truck named Bud was resurrected and rebuilt on the channel.
“This new-tech-meets-vintage look makes the car stand out, and with some performance mods, make it a capable off-roader. It’s exciting to be part of this new chapter where electric cars can be fun and functional but still have character.”
— Jeremiah Burton
Does the Hyundai Ioniq 9 BigTime actually add any capability to the SUV? Probably not. This is a SEMA build from an OEM, and it’s really more about showing what is possible. To encourage you to bring home an Ioniq 9 and build something cool, or at least get you to check out the smaller Ioniq 5 XRT.
