From a bike camping trip wrought with unyielding rain in Northwest Arkansas to a 40-mile tour through New York City’s five boroughs, the “We Are Cyclists” video captures the heart and soul of an ethos that has grown into a movement.
The “We Are Cyclists” film is a follow-up to its coverage of the All Bodies on Bikes story. Since then, the thriving nonprofit has grown to 14 chapters across the United States. As the name of the project implies, the film showcases the All Bodies on Bikes organization’s diversity, including the riders, the places they ride, and its leadership.
Watch the video to see how the movement has inspired cyclists across the country to share a sense of belonging on two wheels.
Shimano believes all rides should be celebrated. That’s why it stepped in to support All Bodies on Bikes 5 years ago, and why there’s a follow-up film now. The 10-minute video was filmed in three sessions across the country, allowing plenty of room to capture the fun and silliness that make group rides better.

All Bodies on Bikes rides are built on inclusivity and riding together, and as you’ll see in the film, the word “joy” comes up often, too. The chapters are full of cyclists with different experience levels, from beginners to decades-long riders.
The group rides are great welcome mats for those interested in going for an organized bike ride, yet have questions and/or doubts, and don’t want to be left behind.
