Springfield Armory just announced new 20” and 22” Model 2020 Heatseeker variants, building on the success of the compact 16” model released earlier this year.
The longer-barrel Heatseekers keep the same AR-style modularity and precision bolt-action design while extending performance for shooters who want every bit of velocity and stability from their rifle.
“The 16” Model 2020 Heatseeker’s combination of compact dimensions with modular adaptability and uncompromising performance made it an instantaneous hit,” said Steve Kramer, Springfield Armory’s VP of Marketing. “These new Model 2020 Heatseekers add a new dimension to the line, extending the design’s already capable performance envelope even farther.”
Built for Strength and Speed
Each rifle features a Sharps Bros. Heatseeker chassis machined from a single block of 6061-T6 billet aluminum, weighing just 1 lb., 3 oz. with a 14” free-float M-Lok handguard. The rugged Coyote Brown Cerakote finish adds durability and field-ready appeal.

Available chamberings include .308 Win. (20”) and 6.5 Creedmoor (20” and 22”). All versions use Springfield’s Model 2020 stainless steel action with dual locking lugs, fluted bolt, and EDM raceways for smooth cycling.
AR-Style Features, Bolt-Action Accuracy
Designed for modularity, the chassis accepts AR-pattern stocks and pistol grips, including the factory-equipped B5 Systems Collapsible Precision Stock and P-Grip 23. A TriggerTech Field Trigger adjustable from 2.5 to 5 lbs., a carbon-fiber-wrapped barrel, and a five-round AICS-pattern magazine round out the precision package.
Every Model 2020 Heatseeker comes with Springfield’s .75-MOA accuracy guarantee, ensuring repeatable precision at distance.
