Say hello to the snorkel. For 2027, Toyota has just added one of the features that makes us giggle every time we’re behind the wheel of the latest Toyota Trailhunter models.
The high-mount air intake is the highlight of a small number of very Toyota-style changes that include a new paint color and heated and ventilated seats for the people in the back.
Time to Roll That Window Down
Every time we’re behind the wheel of the Tacoma or 4Runner Trailhunter, that high-mounted air intake — don’t call it a snorkel — starts the fun. The intake is way up there to get clean air away from the dust closer to the ground. But it’s also a direct path from the turbocharger to our ears.
Mash the gas, and you can hear the delightful sounds of the air rushing into the 2.4L turbo-four, as well as the noises of the wastegate as it vents excess air.
Now you can have both of those on the latest Land Cruiser. You don’t even need a single special trim. The intake is available on the base 1958 trim, as well as the standard Land Cruiser.
It’s a $980 option. And, good luck matching that price or quality on something you add after the sale.
One New Color, But It’s No TRD Pro

Toyota is big on new colors, with the TRD Pro models sporting a flashy new hue every year. The Land Cruiser gets its own new paint, but instead of something bright, it’s a new black called Inked. It’s one of seven colors this year, including Heritage Blue and Trail Dust.
Rear Seat Comfort, For a Price
Adding heated and ventilated seats for second-row passengers, at least the outboard ones, is a nice touch. It’s not free, though; the comfy thrones are included as part of the Premium Package.
The package costs $4,905 this year, up from $4,355. It also requires you to add the hatch light, which is $5 more at $200.
The Premium Package also includes 14-speaker JBL audio, light-up running boards, a power moonroof, leather seats, and more comfort and convenience extras. It has some extra driver aids, including traffic jam assist.

2027 Toyota Land Cruiser Arrives This Spring
For 2027, the Toyota Land Cruiser starts from $57,880 for the 1958 edition, or $63,955. Add $1,495 for destination and delivery fees.
It’s a surprisingly small increase from last year, at least by modern standards. Both are just $280 more than last year, with the delivery fee remaining the same. The 2027 Toyota Land Cruiser will arrive at dealerships this spring — so, anytime now.
