Whether they’re your style or not, there’s no arguing that Bedrock’s sandals and clogs are an outdoor icon. The thick, grippy, treaded sole, plus the chunky buckles and straps, are instantly recognizable. Some see them as the epitome of outdoor granola chic.
And if you’re a fan, we’ve got good news for you. Bedrock just dropped several new styles, just in time for spring and summer adventures. Here’s a sneak peek at the newest releases from the in-demand brand.
Rockhound Sandal
Traditional flip-flops are great for the beach, but they’re not exactly sturdy, and certainly not sturdy enough for the trail. That’s where the Rockhound Sandal from Bedrock comes in. It has an adjustable G-hook and a custom Vibram XS Trek outsole.
The brand explained that it made it a little bit more low-profile than its popular Cairn sandals. It’s a zero-drop shoe, “with an arch that locks your foot in place and provides more support than your average flip,” the brand said.
In a blog post, Bedrock co-founder Dan Opalacz explained that the team has been getting requests for years to make a flip-flop.
“We’re pretty toe-strap forward, but the flip-flop idea kept tugging at us. Eventually, we realized if we’re going to do it, we’re going to do it the Bedrock way: make a really bomber flip-flop that’s adjustable, durable, and repairable,” he said.
Bedrock imagines the typical customers as river raft guides, avid fishermen, and kayakers.
“Since moving to Montana, we’ve got a ton of connections to river guides, and it’s been a pretty common request in those communities, too. People want something transitional that can still handle some real use.”

The Rockhounds come in both vegan synthetic ($90) and Nubuck leather ($130) versions. The leather is a great choice for people who are on land mainly, and want more support, while the synthetic’s traction holds up better in wet conditions.
Cairn Evo Pro C
The Cairn is one of Bedrock’s most popular models, and it just got an upgrade. The Cairn Evo Pro C ($145) combines the brand’s thickest EVA footbed and toughest strap with Vibram Megagrip outsole for maximum grip.

Bedrock is designed to handle whatever situation you might end up in. “The G-hook-and-loop heel strap system creates an extra secure foothold that won’t gum up in mud or pull off in whitewater,” the brand said.
The strap is available in a range of styles, from basic, neutral black to bright, poppy purple.
