To say that 2026 has been boring might be pretty accurate if you’ve been nowhere near the news or social media in the past 12 days. The United States basically stole another country’s president in less time than it takes to order a pizza, and there was a shooting where ICE killed a woman who hit an agent with her car, yet some people are saying some rather insane things to make it ICE’s fault.
Yeah, it’s not exactly been boring.
But at least one protester is determined to see things get even spicier as 2026 rolls along.
Maybe it’s just me, but he seems to be calling for armed rebellion against the federal government.
An unidentified protester outside the Whipple Building Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was interviewed about Wednesday’s ICE-involved shooting and said, “We have to show up with guns and end this.”
The unidentified protester accused ICE of shooting people “with no cause” and said, “We have to show up with guns.”
He continued, “We have to, there’s no way around it. I don’t care if I don’t have a Minnesota carry permit. I’m unarmed right now but this is the last time I show up to face these guys without a weapon.”
The unidentified protester said, “The time for peace is over. They fired the first shot; it’s time to end this sh*t by any means necessary.”
Lest you think that this is just about ICE and deporting illegal immigrants against this protester’s will, he also pointed out deportations to “El Salvadorian concentration camps” and “other countries being raided for their oil.” He also said that we can’t vote “our” way out of this, saying, “there’s no waiting till the ballot box, we need to get to the bullet box.”

I’d like to point out to this individual, though, that even if the Minnesota shooting was unjustified–I don’t think it was, but let’s roll on for the sake of argument–it doesn’t change the fact that ICE has been the target of numerous violent incidents, including a couple of attacks on ICE facilities in an effort to free illegal immigrants.
Now, this protester admits he doesn’t have a carry permit, so now he’s going to start carrying without one, specifically to protests, and intends to shoot ICE agents and, potentially, any other federal law enforcement there.
Look, everyone’s got their line in the sand, but deciding to go after federal law enforcement by yourself is a quick way to get yourself a Darwin Award nomination.
I don’t understand this desire to die for illegal immigrants, anyway. Not when most of the ones being picked up are, in fact, either criminal or associated with criminals. And those being sent to prisons in other countries are, generally, known criminals who are just filling out their sentences in foreign prisons instead of ours.
It’s fine to have a problem with how the Trump administration is handling it, but if you start shooting, don’t be surprised if you spark off something you’re not ready for, because there’s absolutely no way a dipstick talking smack to a reporter has the necessary organization and skillset to actually kick off a revolt with a chance in hell of doing anything except purging a degree of stupidity from the population.
I am curious how many anti-gun protests this guy has been to, because I’m willing to bet the total is far greater than zero.
