Marines now have a new tool in their pocket for staying squared away on uniform and grooming standards.
Marine Corps Education Command launched the official Marine Corps Uniform App on June 29, 2026, giving service members quick access to key guidance from Marine Corps Order 1020.34 while they are away from their computers or on the move. The free app is available now in the Apple App Store, with an Android version planned for fiscal year 2027.
Brigadier General Matthew W. Tracy, commanding general of Education Command and president of the Marine Corps Uniform Board, said in a released statement:
The Marine Corps Uniform App gives Marines immediate access to the guidance they use most often.
He added, “It is designed to make existing standards more accessible while reinforcing the professionalism and attention to detail that define our Corps.”
The app serves as a companion to the full 263-page MCO 1020.34H, not a replacement. It organizes information by officer and enlisted, male and female, with sections for uniforms and grooming. Users tap into categories such as physical training, utilities, service, and dress uniforms. Each page shows a full image with highlighted components, plus details on when to wear them and how to assemble them correctly.
Grooming standards use dropdown menus for quick reference on relevant rules. Marines preparing for inspections, traveling for duty, or simply double-checking before formation can pull up the info in seconds.
How the App Helps Marines Day to Day
Junior and senior Marines alike often find themselves wondering about specifics related to proper uniform wear before inspections or events. The app puts the most common answers at their fingertips without scrolling through dense PDFs.
Leaders can use it to quickly confirm details when mentoring troops or conducting spot checks. The mobile format also reduces the chances of Marines relying on outdated screenshots, unofficial guides or word-of-mouth interpretations of uniform regulations, helping units maintain consistent standards across the force.
Instructors supporting training or Marines studying for promotion boards gain a practical visual reference that reinforces the standards outlined in the order.
The service stressed that the app supplements official policy. For comprehensive details or questions not covered, Marines should consult MCO 1020.34 directly.
