The injured were listed in stable condition following the shooting in front of Gwangjang Korean Market in Carrollton, about 25 miles north of downtown Dallas, Carrollton Police Chief Roberto Arredondo told reporters.
A male suspect, 69-year-old Seung Han Ho, was taken into custody after short foot chase, police said.
Officers were dispatched to the shooting in the 4000 block of State Highway 121, police said.
“Currently, there is no immediate threat to the public, this was a meeting with the suspect for a business purpose,” Arredondo said. “This is not a random act of gunfire.”
Investigators are still trying to determine if there was a dispute between the suspect and victims.
This was not a hate crime, police said.
“We don’t know exactly what the meeting was about, but we understand it to be a business relationship,” Arredondo said.
The Dallas suburb is home to about 135,256, according to the most recent U.S. Census data. And of those residents, about 25,391 identified as Asian (18.8%) and 5,896 called themselves Korean (4.4%).
