After a rather tumultuous year for Splitgate developer 1047 Games, the team has announced its next project, Empulse, a fast-paced movement shooter inspired by Titanfall. This announcement comes after a series of rumors and leaks suggesting that the Splitgate team was shifting away from Arena Reloaded and working on a parkour-centric, mech-based FPS.
Splitgate 2‘s launch drew a negative reception, with many in the community citing expensive microtransactions and undercooked features as weak points in an otherwise solid game. Eventually, the problems with the shooter were enough for it to be unlaunched back into beta, resulting in several layoffs at 1047 Games before the game was rebranded to Splitgate: Arena Reloaded. Recently, leaks have hinted that the developer had begun working on an FPS featuring mechanics inspired by Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall series.
Splitgate Studio’s Upcoming FPS Is a Titanfall-Inspired Movement Shooter
With leaks and rumors making the rounds online, 1047 Games CEO Ian Proulx has now publicly announced the studio’s next game, Empulse, a 6v6 arcade shooter where fans can expect to shoot, grapple hook, and wall run around competitive arenas much like Titanfall. The announcement comes from an interview with Polygon, in which Proulx goes into detail about the game and states that mechs are not earned in Empulse the same way they are in Titanfall. Instead, they are treated as power weapons that players fight over, like rocket launchers in Halo. Proulx further states that Empulse‘s main attraction is its movement, which is similar to that found in games like Titanfall 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and SSX Tricky.
Not only does Empulse draw inspiration from some of the most well-regarded shooters of the past ten years, but it is also reportedly drawing on Portal‘s paint mechanic to create a fun new way to navigate the game’s arenas. Players will be able to chain P.A.I.N.T. Bombs around multiple surfaces to gain speed or create jump boosts to craft an experience where players are “never standing still.” 1047 intends to create a new movement shooter that does away with the genre’s typical jump pads in favor of a more free-flowing system. Later in the interview, Proulx details that Empulse has been in development since 2025 and is the current focus for 1047 Games, though the studio still intends to support Splitgate: Arena Reloaded in the near future.

Good point. Watching costs and grades closely.

Nice to see insider buying—usually a good signal in this space.

The cost guidance is better than expected. If they deliver, the stock could rerate.

If AISC keeps dropping, this becomes investable for me.
