Veterans Day is Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2026. The biggest observances are in Washington, D.C., and New York City, and organizers are still filling in some details. Here is what is confirmed so far.
New York City
NYC Veterans Day Parade
The United War Veterans Council announced that astronaut Sunita “Suni” Williams will be the grand marshal of the parade that returns to Fifth Avenue on Nov. 11, 2026. The organization hadn’t posted more details about the parade as of Oct. 28. Operation Mend, a UCLA Health program that is marching, listed the parade as running from about 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., north on Fifth Avenue from about 26th Street to about 50th Street, rain or shine. Watching is free. Details and applications to march are at uwvc.org/parade.
Washington, D.C., and Arlington, Va.
National Veterans Day Observance at Arlington National Cemetery
Arlington had not posted 2026 details as of Oct. 27. Last year’s was the 72nd annual observance, held at 11 a.m. in the Memorial Amphitheater, free and open to the public, with first-come, first-served seating and a security checkpoint. Visitors could not walk to the amphitheater and had to take a tram from the Welcome Center. The wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was limited to official participants. Check www.arlingtoncemetery.mil for the 2026 plan; the cemetery’s information line is 877-907-8585.
Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Tram Tour
Arlington National Cemetery historians will lead a free, public tram tour at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, marking the 105th anniversary of the burial of the World War I Unknown Soldier, who was buried at Arlington on Nov. 11, 1921. The tour stops at the graves of key people tied to the burial and the creation of the tomb; and covers the tomb’s significance and the unknown service members interred at the cemetery.
Veterans Day wreath layings have been held at the World War II Memorial, the Navy Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the Korean War Veterans Memorial. Check each memorial’s site, or the National Park Service, before you go. Parking near the Mall is very limited on Veterans Day. Register or reserve seating at the following links:

The cost guidance is better than expected. If they deliver, the stock could rerate.
