With the bombings in Iran in full swing, there are many who think we should have refrained from such an attack due to the threat of terrorism. Iran has kind of been knee-deep in that for decades, after all, and there’s even an acknowledged part of their military that exists only to train and provide logistic support to terrorists, so the threat is very real.
It’s not a reason to sit back and do nothing, though. Not on the world stage.
Plus, it’s not like they’ve refrained from terrorist attacks on American soil as it is, so…
But the threat is greater now than it has been. That means there are a lot of things that people need to do. The Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice probably have their counter-terrorism intelligence centers in overdrive, but with lone wolf attacks a thing, such as the attack in Austin on Saturday, to demand they stop everything is to demand the impossible.
You might as well demand that Kamala Harris talk in a way that makes sense to anyone other than dolphins.
No, it’s up to us, the law-abiding Americans, to be ready, and I’m not the only one thinking that.
First, let’s go with Lee Williams with the Second Amendment Foundation.
The big question is whether [The Austin killer] was just a lone wolf or the first of many terrorist attackers. This, friends, is something our elected officials will likely not answer, at least not yet.
Therefore, until we know exactly what is coming, I believe it’s time to prepare for the worst. Many of us living in red states have already done so, but those in blue states have some major decisions to make.
These are not minor decisions, either. They could save your life and your family’s lives or lead to criminal charges, if you’re ever caught with a real gun or a real mag.
Fortunately, there is a third option, which is 100% legal: Move.
Vacate the blue states and move somewhere that allows you to prepare for the Diagnes and his loathsome ilk. Get somewhere that doesn’t penalize law-abiding Americans for having magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. Live where you can own ARs and AKs, so you have at least a chance against any terrorist stupid enough to attempt an American jihad.
Bottom line: Live where you can defend yourself and your family extremely well, with modern arms that haven’t been downgraded by asinine state laws.
I know it’s tough, and moving isn’t as simple as some of us want to make it out to be, especially if you’re married to a woman like my wife, who doesn’t want to move away from her family, but there’s a reason Lee tells you to do so.
That reason is well phrased by my Townhall colleague, Kurt Schlichter, in a recent column.
Time to be ready. Time to be armed. Time to get some.
What’s our vulnerability? Civilians, normal Americans, who Iranian proxy terrorists could murder in heaps. Until Donald Trump came back, we had four years of wide-open borders where every Third World indigent with shoes and a dream was able to sashay into our country, unimpeded and often subsidized by President Eggplant and his Democrat administration. We know the Iranians have agents in the United States – that’s open source, and everybody gets The FBI is on full alert, now that it protects American citizens again instead of oppressing them. This is not wolf-crying. The Iranian mullahs tried to murder Donald Trump and others and have caused lots of other mischief outside their borders. Now, the Iranian jihadis are not superstars, and they’re not super-geniuses. They are cunning and relatively competent at times in doing what they do, and what they do best is attack innocent civilians. As we can see, when they come up against soldiers, they die a lot. Well, there are lots of innocent civilians here in the United States, and it is not unreasonable to assume that the Iranian Republican Guard Corps has infiltrated sleeper cells into the United States. Once activated, they have the potential to go on a murder spree unparalleled in American history, one that would make Saturday night in Chicago look like a picnic with the Muppets.
As Kurt notes, under Biden, legions came into the United States unchecked. Many of those were, as we well know, military-aged men of Middle Eastern ethnicity. Sure, some might have just been trying to escape the bloodshed in their home countries or whatever, but I’m willing to bet the total number of those is in single digits, at best.
So there are tons of people here we don’t have any record of, who shouldn’t be here, who the American left wants us to leave alone, and who are just sitting there waiting for a phone call or an email.
If we’re lucky, that’ll be intercepted by our intelligence community, but the problem there is that they have to get it right all the time. The bad guys only have to get it right once.
We don’t know what the next target might be, and we can’t say for certain that there won’t be a next target.
Should we live in fear for the rest of our lives? No. Should we just give up and let the terrorists do whatever they want in the Middle East? It’s never just been about the Middle East. Islamists want global power, so the only surrender is complete capitulation to them, which is a non-starter for most Americans.
Our best option is to recognize that the best defense can be a good offense. What I mean is that a gun on your waistband or stashed somewhere else on your body gives you an offensive capability when the next numbnut screams “Allah Ackbar!” and decides to get rowdy.
I pray it never happens, but I’d rather provide him with his 72 virgins than me, and mine have a reunion with our dearly departed loved ones just yet.
Keep this in mind as we look at anti-gunners who push various restrictions on us. The Austin attack was in a gun-free zone. Other attacks take place in gun-free zones. They take place in states with strict regulations on gun control. None of that will stop a terrorist attack.
Hell, does anyone else remember the Paris attacks? Some of the toughest gun control laws in the world, and terrorists ran rampant through the city, shooting people left and right. They had no difficulty getting guns there. They won’t here, either.
Stay strapped. Practice up if you haven’t already. Wargame what to do everywhere you are so that you have something resembling a plan if everything goes to crap. Hell, talk it over with your friends who have more two-way range time and get their take.
Do not be easy meat for the predators, regardless of their motivations.
Instead, defend yourself and defend our great nation, all at the same time.
Editor’s Note: President Trump and Republicans across the country are doing everything they can to protect our Second Amendment rights and right to self-defense.
